Hi, I’m Rachel!

“I’ve been everywhere, man!”  I’ve made 18 moves to 9 states (4 of those twice), and one foreign country. I have also visited 33 states and 6 foreign countries on 4 continents.

I am an avid lover of books, a nature seeker, and prefer local shops/eateries to chains. I like handcrafted and homegrown, but appreciate some of the finer things in life too. I love to work with fibers (knitting and needlework) and all the implements used for writing.

I’ve been married 35, 30 as a preacher’s wife, and the mother of four boys (ages 29 to 18). We homeschooled for 17 years before I went to work full-time. I worked first as the Associate and Children/Youth Librarian at our local Public Library and am currently a High School Library and Media Specialist. I have a B.A. and an M.A in Bible.

My gifts include writing, speaking, researching, categorizing, feeding people, and staying calm in a crisis. Despite the fact that I am intimidated when I read writing that I could only hope to aspire to, this blog is a place to record some of my passions and share my thoughts.
